Ghosts, gods, and demonic or mythological creatures generally assume the appearance of humans or animals and only rarely do we find really hybrid figures. Man reflects his own ideas, conflicts, and desires in his thinking about the world, and artistic expression forms a medium for the solution of unconscious conflicts.”
